Grace M. Rehnblom passed away on September 26, 2019 at her home in Madrid, Iowa. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Capitol Hill Lutheran Church. Private internment will be at Lawn Hill Cemetery in Stanhope, Iowa.
She was born in Kirkman, Iowa, on June 17, 1927 to Rasmus and Myrtle (Southwick) Rasmussen. Grace’s mother passed away when she was 7 years old and she was raised by two aunts. Most of her schooling took place in Packwood, Iowa. She graduated from high school at Siloam Springs, Arkansas, in 1943 and the State University of Iowa in 1949.
She was united in marriage to Wendell L. Rehnblom on June 18, 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City. Three children were born to this union , Janet (Richard) Lueras of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ann Blazejewski of Waukee, Iowa, and David Rehnblom of Overland Park, Kansas.
Grace was a member of Capitol Hill Lutheran Church and Heartland Chapter Order of Eastern Star, and served as Worthy Matron.
She is survived by her children, Janet (Richard) Lueras, Ann Blazejewski, and David Rehnblom; and grandchildren, Rachel, Wendy, John, Drew, and Melanie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Wendell.
