Grand View University recently issued the following announcement.
The Grand View Vikings traveled south to take on the Vikings of Missouri Valley. Grand View would lose the battle of the Vikings 77-58.
The game was a tale of two halves, after one half of play the game was tied 32-32. After the first half, Grand View shot 34% (11/32) from the field, 36% (5/14) from the three, and 63% (5/8) from the free-throw line. Missouri Valley shot 40% (13/32) from the field, 29% (4/14) from the three, and 50% (2/4) from the free-throw line. Both teams would have double-digit turnovers after a half of play. In the second half, Missouri Valley was able to find the shooting touch while Grand View could not. Missouri Valley shot 63% in the second half from the field while Grand View only shot 28% from the field. For the game, Grand View shot 31% (20/64) from the field, 35% (11/31) from three, and 58% (7/12) from the free-throw line. Missouri Valley finished shooting 50% (28/56) from the field, 34% (8/23) from the three, and 72% (13/18) from the free-throw line
Keys to the Game
Drew Johnson (JR/Clive, Iowa) led the team scoring 18 points, connecting on 6 threes. Johnson also finished with 4 assists, 3 steals, and 2 rebounds. Colton Kolowski (JR/Yorkville, Illinois) connected on 4 threes himself, he finished with 14 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and one steal. They were the only Grand View Vikings to finish in double figures.
